JOB PURPOSE
To create a workable external engagements matrix for NMB, tabling all engagement issues for our
business across all departments and work on solving them with the right channels, messages and
appropriate person from NMB, and oversee all the issues within the Government and other
stakeholders that may have an impact on our business and to pre-empt solutions through planned
and strategic engagement activities as per the company’s stakeholder mapping, advising on
engagement with key political, business and media stakeholders and contribute to the company’s
communications priorities and objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ROLE
Responsibilities

  • Support the line manager in developing the proactive public affairs strategy for communication with MPs, Government departments, NGOs, think-tanks and other key stakeholders.
  • Fully deliver the Company’s public affairs action plan and management of a programme of related activity as per NMB’s stakeholder mapping.
  • Lead the implementation of local lobbying toolkits via operational leads, advising on engagement as well as providing support for regional local government teams, overview and scrutiny meetings, and other associated engagement meetings, ensuring consistent

 Fully advocate internally for the importance and benefits of good local and national
engagement with a range of internal key stakeholders

 Organizing specific events e.g. roundtables, Branch and Business Centre launches,
inaugurations

 Supporting a coordinated approach to our work, undertaking monitoring, briefings, and
contact with parliamentarians and influencers as required

 Fully monitor and summarize key findings for key policy developments, stakeholder’s
forums or publications e.g. Parliament/ Bunge Sessions for internal stakeholders update
and coordinate relevant internal stakeholders to produce consultation responses

 Fully monitor information sources produced by stakeholders such as government
departments/institutions and other bodies in order to keep key internal stakeholders
informed of any developments related to their field of activity

 Maintaining an interest in political and media developments

 Develop and maintain close relationships with significant external contacts such as offices
of MPs, key Government departments, customers, media, etc.

 Conduct research, forecast and evaluate the effects of public policy on the organization,
using public sources, political intelligence and personal contacts;

 Maintain a register of stakeholder contact, engagement and correspondence;

 Fully identify and advise, selecting and briefing internal representatives on attendance at
stakeholders conferences and other events and/or exhibitions

 Being aware of the national news agenda and identifying opportunities or bringing issues
to the attention of communications manager or senior executives.

 Fully prepare and brief key individuals to attend and/or speak at identified stakeholders
events and/or political meetings;

 follow-up on stakeholders exhibitions/forums and gain invitations access for the Bank to
participate

 Support the PR and Internal Communications teams with political briefings to support with
stakeholders aspect of crisis management and internal communications

3. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Social Science or any other related

policy makers etc. Strong Proven public affairs track record either in-house
or through a consultancy

Job Title:Zonal Facilities Officer

The Incumbent that we are looking for will be responsible for supervising the bank’s building maintenance, coordinating activities of contractors, vendors and suppliers as well as developing and managing an effective mechanical and electrical maintenance program for Zonal office and Branches to meet operational and legal requirements.

Core Responsibilities:
In consultation with the senior manager facilities operations and maintenance, develop, implement and manage an effective electrical, plumbing and Air conditioning maintenance programmes ,so that it complies with legal and operational requirements.
Co-ordinate regular surveys of NMB’s mechanical and electrical systems to ensure that maintenance requirements are comprehensively identified and rectified.
Manage strategic mechanical and electrical works projects.
Manage and monitor the performance of the appointed contractors and consultants against the requirements of the contract specification, including monitoring and sorting complaints, and negotiating with clients and contractors to resolve difficulties to effect the improvement of service delivery

Assist with the preparation of budget estimates and the management of allocations to enable the best use of financial resources.

Assess and produce procedures relating to statutory compliance, documenting maintenance and site records, and updating condition survey information.

To attend and actively participate in specialist advice groups relating to buildings, e.g. disabled access, property loss and risk management, and to report and advise on energy management initiatives.

Ensure premises are in acceptable sanitary standards. To provide advice on health and safety, consulting with the Health & Safety Advisor as appropriate.
Prepare reports for Senior management and assist in the ongoing development and monitoring of NMB Branches and offices

Monitor and manage services for firefighting equipment across the zone including regular check up on their condition as per requirements

Monitor and manage servicing and maintenance of all security system; CCTV cameras, panic buttons, access control and intruder alarms and ensure proper performance
Supervise security guards; ensuring adherence to their contractual obligations.
Fleet management: responsible for managing drivers’ duties and leave rosters and ensure use of vehicles as per the fleet management policy·

Ensure maintained both mechanically and aesthetically. Ensure updated insurance covers, road licenses are in place,

Compile monthly status reports to management
Management of all zonal assets; have coded asset register in place. Prepare and maintain database for all leases

Management of leases renewals: Ensure all Bank premises have valid contracts and advise HQ on their renewals at least a month prior

Procurement of goods and services at zonal level. Managing the end to end procurement process from tendering to contract award and management
Statutory issues: ensure all statutory obligations are paid; land rent, property tax. OSHA and BOT regulations and standards are observed.

Supervision of new projects within budget
Quality assurance checks for all projects in the zone
Supervise maintenance of generators and send reports to management on fuel consumption on monthly basis

In liaison with SMFMO & Channel Department, inspect for approval new sites after been identified by Channel department. New sites for ATM/QSB/Branch
Any other tasks assigned by senior management

Qualifications & Experience:
Advanced Diploma /Bachelor’s degree in the field of Land management and valuation, engineering or its equivalent
