Nafasi za Kazi World Vision, Project Coordinator- Maswa Cluster


JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose of the position:
Project Coordinator will provide overall leadership and coordination to Diagnostic Smartphone Application (DSA) Program implementation in Maswa Cluster. She/he will ensure timely planning, implementation, communication, monitoring and evaluation of the project activities while maintaining effective communication with the WVUS based project lead, project consultant, CHMTs and the local government.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategic engagement and coordination:

  • Maintain coordination to all project partners at the national, regional and district levels including the Ministry of Health, RHMTs, CHMTs, consultants and regulatory institutions.
  • Work with the project consultant to develop, pretest and deploy non-invasive mobile phone application to be used by the frontline healthcare workers for anemia screening in pregnant women and children under five.
  • Work closely with the ADP manager, Cluster team leader and the Cluster health and nutrition specialist to integrate DSA interventions into ongoing Health, nutrition and livelihood interventions to enhance sustainability.
  • Ensure social behavior change communication strategies and interventions are developed and implemented to address iron deficiency anaemia in the ADP.
  • Networking, visibility and donor recognition
  • Ensures DSA program interventions and donor are recognized by the government, partners and communities.
  • Represent WVT and Participate in networking meetings/workshops/conferences with GoT and other stakeholders at the district, regional and national level.
  • Facilitate documentation and sharing of processes, challenges, good practices and lessons learnt to partners and stakeholders.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting:

  • Work together with cluster M&E specialist in gathering, reporting and analyzing performance data for impact and sustainability of project implementation.
  • Support all monitoring, evaluation and research work to ensure DSA technology usability for testing anaemia at the community and facility level is examined, documented and disseminated.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual progress reports on the status of project implementation.
  • Ensure timely communication with the support office, consultants and other relevant partners to maintain strong relationships.
Financial and non-Financial resource management:
Manage program assets, materials and financial resources to ensure Stewardship and accountability in the project.

Qualifications: 
Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

Minimum Qualification required:
Bachelor of Science in Home economics and human nutrition, Public Health or Community development, with experience in project planning and management.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years working experience in Health, and/or Nutrition projects at community level.

Other skills:
Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Swahili.
Significant experience of working with government officials, multiple partners, community groups and communities.
Proven experience in facilitating effective project documentation and dissemination of results to a wide range of audiences. Attend and participate in the leadership of daily devotions.
Ability to take initiatives, team player who is able to work with minimum supervision
Good computer skills in MS office (Excel, word, PowerPoint etc).
Familiar with current Advocacy issues around nutrition.

Working Environment / Conditions:
Work environment: Willing to work in rural areas and be based at the Singida or Shinyanga region with frequent visits to the field.
On call: During working hours unless there is an emergency.
